The campus houses 504 patient beds, a Level I trauma center, and the Intermountain Heart Institute. It is one of the largest hospitals in the Mountain West and serves as a tertiary referral center for a multi-state region.
Fashion Place Mall, which opened in 1972, anchors retail activity along State Street. Murray Park, developed along Little Cottonwood Creek, has served as the city's central gathering place since the 1920s and hosts the annual Fun Days celebration each July.
