Christiana is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in southern Rutherford County, about 12 miles south of Murfreesboro and near the Bedford County line. The community grew up around a 19th-century railroad depot and now consists of a scatter of homes, a couple of churches, and Christiana Elementary School, which serves one of the oldest school buildings still in continuous use in Rutherford County. Highway 231 (Shelbyville Pike) runs through Christiana, connecting Murfreesboro south to Shelbyville. Subdivision growth creeping south from Murfreesboro has begun to reach the northern fringe of the community, but much of Christiana remains agricultural.

Residents typically travel to Murfreesboro for shopping, medical services, and Middle Tennessee State University.
