Johnson Park, another county park, borders the Raritan River opposite New Brunswick and includes the East Jersey Olde Towne Village, a collection of relocated and recreated colonial-era buildings.
The Franklin Township section of the Delaware and Raritan Canal runs along the Raritan River and the Millstone River, and much of the canal's towpath within the township is preserved as a state park. The Rutgers EcoPreserve occupies 316 acres of former farmland along the river.
