Hunt Valley is an unincorporated community in northern Baltimore County at the northern terminus of the Maryland Transit Administration's Light Rail line. The area transitioned from horse country to a corporate office park and residential community starting in the 1970s. McCormick & Company moved its headquarters here in 1989.
Oregon Ridge Park, a 1,043-acre nature park, features a lake, ski slope (the only one inside the Baltimore Beltway), and summer concert venue. The NCR Trail (Northern Central Railroad Trail), a 20-mile rail-trail running to the Pennsylvania line, starts nearby. Hunt Valley Towne Centre replaced the former enclosed mall with an open-air shopping center.
