Fountainebleau is a census-designated place in western Miami-Dade County, bounded roughly by the Palmetto Expressway to the east, the Florida Turnpike to the west, and Flagler Street to the south. The name derives from the Fontainebleau Park subdivision developed in the 1950s and 1960s, itself named after the Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach. There is no incorporated government; Miami-Dade County provides all municipal services.
The area is overwhelmingly Hispanic, with Cuban Americans forming the largest group.
